Experienced Litigation Assistant/Legal Secretary - Phoenix Office

Job summary:

Immediate need for a part-time litigation secretary/legal assistant in North Phoenix/Scottsdale area. The firm handles a variety of litigation, including business litigation, insurance law, personal injury and real estate/professional negligence. Successful candidate will have 3-5 years experience in Arizona litigation, state and federal, and must know calendaring and Word.  Must be very organized, and flexible to assist 1 attorney with a variety of cases.  Status may change to full time depending for the right fit.

Summary of essential job functions:

Calendaring, correspondence to opposing counsel and clients, document preparation including proofreading, working with attorney services to complete filings/service, copying/scanning, opening files, preparing basic pleadings, draft responses to discovery and assemble appropriate exhibits.  Familiarity with electronic assembly of documents a large plus (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro, Bluebeam). Self-starter a must. 

Minimum requirements:

3-5 year experience as a legal secretary/legal assistant.  Familiarity with Arizona local, state and federal rules a must.  Please do not apply if you do not have this knowledge.   Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure helpful, but not mandatory. 

Abilities required:

Calendaring; Word 2010 (preferred); Outlook; Lexis; Lexbe or CaseMap; Computer savvy; Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus, but not required.
